Mere Mortals 03:48
Can you laugh? Can you cry? Can you act like you don't care if you should die? Can you speak with your eyes? Can you curse all of your blessings in disguise? Can you keep a straight face when you finally realize.. That it's a tough tough job but someone's gotta do it Get there faster than a speeding bullet Know it all ahead of time but you really don't know why Mere mortals need not apply I can see, I can sense, I can kill you with this thing they call suspense I can jump over joy Want to be your superhero not another misfit toy When you realize that every man is still a boy And it's a tough tough job but someone's gotta do it Get there faster than a speeding bullet Know it all ahead of time but you really don't know why Mere mortals need not apply I keep my friends close but I'll keep you much closer I keep my friends close but I'll keep you much closer And it's a tough tough job but someone's gotta do it You gotta get there faster than a speeding bullet and it's a tough tough love but someone's got to show it plant that seed now we've got to grow it it's another minor miracle you and me can still survive dead or alive mere mortals need not apply

It was a long, long time ago When I should have said i love you so But I didn't though And now it's the price that I pay I'm never one to reminisce But I'm haunted by our only kiss And I'll tell you this I never should have let you get away Back in the day Back in the day Remember the time when all our friends Took a fistful of amphetamines And we laughed at them Cause we had no need to get high Yeah they were the ones who never did They just ran their mouths and kept talkin' shit And I'm pretty sure they beat their kids And they live for the lie Back in the day Back in the day And it's only loneliness And it's only clenching fists And I'm sure you catch my gist But that's just the way we roll It was a long, long time ago When you laughed and said "I told you so" And I know you know There were far too many shades of your gray Back in the day Back in the day

D.N.A. 03:48
Everybody has a list of what they think they need From a lover or a friend Everybody wants to eat your heart out on their sleeve But the head game never ends I'm giving it all away My blood and sweat and tears All of the D.N.A. Any trace that I was here I will walk right out I will cast no doubt I will know that i was right 'Cause I don't need to fall for you tonight Everybody has a choice they keep inside their head But everybody hates to choose Thank your god For what you got 'Cause nothing is more dangerous than someone With no one to lose I'm giving it all away My blood and spit and tears All of the D.N.A. Any trace that I was here I will walk right out I will cast no doubt I will know that i was right 'Cause I don't need to fall for you tonight I Don't Need Anyone to tell me I Don't Need Anything to sell me To quell me Compel me like you do And you do.. I'm giving it all away All of the D.N.A. I will walk right out I will cast no doubt I will know that i was right 'Cause I don't need to fall I don't need to fall I don't need to fall for you tonight

This is why I keep on hanging around 'Cause I can't stop trying to find my soul in the sound Perfectly imperfected Short and sweet and profound This is why I keep on hanging around This is where I wear my heart on my sleeve I could make it up but I'd rather make you believe The awful truth can hurt you But it's better than being deceived This is why I keep on singing Get back up and keep on swinging This is why I keep on hanging around Take the melody, make the harmony louder Commit a felony, make your family prouder Drop me from your highest concept To your lowest brow And tell me truly how you like me now Write a symphony Live in infamy Love your enemy Have it in for me Drink the anarchy Eat society Whack your piety Take a breath and say yeah! This is why I keep on hanging around 'Cause I can't stop trying to find my soul in the sound Perfectly imperfected Short and sweet and profound This is why I keep on singing Stick with bees that keep on stinging This is why I keep on hanging around

Everything that you went through mama You know it made me what I am It's good to finally have that conversation I finally feel like I'm a man Now I'm starin' down the truth in the mirror Naked and brutal in the sun And my reality is so much clearer I know there's nowhere left to run There's nowhere left for me to run They called it serendipity But you knew it was fate And that's the separation OF CHURCH & STATE Sinking down into the part of me That's holding back the tide of years It cuts into the very heart of me They've all begun to smell my fear And every lesson but I'm learning from you The generations at my feet Around in circles as we all become you And now that circle is complete And I am dying To be complete. I thought I wanted yesterday but now it's all too late And that's the separation of church and state Church and state The necessary evil I love to hate Church and state, church and state That's the separation That's the separation Ohhhh Whatcha say, whatcha say I'm listenin' Whatcha say, whatcha say I'm listenin' now I'm listenin' now Heaven knows, heaven knows I'm shiverin' Heaven knows, heaven knows I'm shiverin' now I'm shiverin' now So please don't leave me hanging Outside your pearly gates I need disintegration... I need disintegration... OF CHURCH & STATE Church and state The necessary evil I love to hate Church and state, church and state That's my separation That's the separation OHHHHHHHH

You never have to say you're sorry When you've done nothing to regret And when you lure me with that siren song Every time I fall off track Looking for the new new black Something always brings me back Those meddling.. Those meddling kids So can you teach me not to worry About things that haven't happened yet I've been unlearning everything I know Every time I fall off track Looking for the new new black Something always brings me back Those meddling.. Those meddling kids Love, love, love, nothing but love, love, love For meddling kids How'd you come up with that song Everybody sing along.. Every time I fall off track Looking for the new new black Something always brings me back Those meddling.. Those meddling kids Those meddling kids Andrenaline lives In those meddling, those meddling No ritalin In those meddling kids

I know there's something about you And it's so, so hard to define Thinking back to the day that I met you I should have seen the sign Tell me what's your sign Maybe I'll tell you mine I know there's something inside And it's not so easy to find Tug of war on the days that dog you You shock and awe And if you're so inclined Gemini, change your mind Gemini, change your mind You could change it yesterday or somewhere down the line Or maybe you could change it just in time I know there's something about you Let's me know we're gonna be fine Thinking back to the day that I met you I should have seen the signs Tales of twins entwined Gemini, change your mind Gemini, change your mind Your timing is impeccable Your instinct indisputable To be quite honest I just like your eyes Won't you come around Oh, you could change it yesterday or somewhere down the line Or maybe you could change it just in time Yeah maybe you could change it just in time Gemini, change your mind

Feisty 03:19
There was a time I couldn't see you Lost you behind the search for your smile Deep in those days I wondered about you Did you ever think of me once in a while 20/20 hindsight's funny This time I'm gonna put up a fight But if you're feeling kinda feisty I can send you a dream tonight I spend my days sleeping and smoking Candy cigarettes you know they get me so high You think I'm strange, well maybe I'm broken But I can take you to a place Where we can chase ourselves a perfect sunrise Rear-view image, what's my damage You promise you ain't gonna bite But if you're feeling kinda feisty You can send me a dream tonight Have another cherry bomb And chase it with a cherry bomb And tie me in a knot with your tongue Kiss me with conviction and ignore the contradiction All around I found the sound of you name Is everywhere at once We'll get badder but it don't matter I promise you I ain't gonna bite But if you're feeling kinda feisty I can send you a dream tonight

Baby do you wanna take a ride Wanna take a ride Into Philadelphia Think I may be wanna take a ride Wanna take a ride Into Philadelphia All the girls are fast asleep Way back in no mans land In the middle of the day So it looks like it's just you and me With hours on our hands Little man what do you say We'll slip away, We'll slip away And they will never know it Baby do you want to take a ride… 5 o'clock it's almost dark in February Got a shadow on my face Cast by a son Doesn't know he's the one Whose open eyes might save me When we make our great escape It eats away, it eats away at me Until I'm starving Baby do you wanna take a ride… Into Philadelphia Into Philadelphia Straight into the belly of a dream Do you wanna take a ride You wanna take a ride?

about

This record is a first for me.. I played every instrument and sang every note, with the exciting exception of inviting every former member of my band IKE to sing backing vocals on my remake of "Into Philadelphia." With my close friend Steven LaFashia as my recording and mix engineer, we made a record that serves to remind me of why I started playing music and why I continue to love what I do. I'm truly thank for having been given the opportunity to live my dream, pursue my passion, and have the support of so many music lovers like yourselves. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!
